Editorial standards
Editorial Policy
WindowCostAdvisor is built to help homeowners make better planning decisions, so accuracy, source transparency and clear commercial disclosure come before promotional claims.
Evidence before claims
Cost figures should be traceable to a dated source or clearly identified as a calculation derived from sourced inputs. Product and performance statements should use manufacturer or recognized technical sources where possible.
Editorial independence
Affiliate, advertising or referral relationships do not determine which source we cite, what cost range we publish or whether we recommend comparing additional quotes. Commercial partners do not receive a more favorable calculation simply because a referral relationship exists.
Affiliate and advertising disclosure
When a page contains affiliate or referral links, WindowCostAdvisor may earn a commission or referral fee if a reader takes a qualifying action. That relationship is disclosed separately from the editorial explanation and does not increase the price paid by the reader unless a partner explicitly states otherwise.
Corrections
If a cited source changes, a calculation is found to be wrong or a factual statement is no longer current, we aim to correct the affected content and preserve the underlying sourcing logic rather than hide the limitation.
Homeowner-first language
We distinguish planning estimates from contractor quotes, avoid fake precision and explain the project variables that can move a real installed price outside a published range.
